Welcome to May! / Snake Watch

It's hard to believe that we are already in May!  One more month and 2012 will be half over! I'm hoping we can have a lot of adventures this month!
Don't really have much going on.  Matt got stung by a bee and his hand was super swollen.  We bought Hailey a potty and she's used it once, but I think it was more coincidence than her knowing she was using the potty, but who knows!  Matt's grandparents moved up on the little hill with us...but that's a story for another day.
As you may know, Mia got bit by a baby rattlesnake a while ago.  She's fine now (even the hair on her legs is starting to grow back), but it was a very scary.  You can watch a video that shows a little here - http://youtu.be/SWQHHNy5V6k
Just remember that they are there.  It's spring, so the babies are going to be out and about.  Babies cannot 'sound off' (or shake their rattle) because they have yet to shed enought to make one.  Also, they do not understand how to control their venom.  Sometimes adults will give a dry bite as a warning if they are being bothered.  Also, adults only use enough venom as needed for prey, babies let it all go.  You also need to watch out for adults.  They don't always give the best warning.  So when your out and about in their territory, be sure to watch where you step and listen well :)   *The more you know* (rainbow theme)
