Another another Birthday

Yet another HAPPY BIRTHDAY to mine and Matt's good friend Mike
aka "D"

We have loads of fun when D's in town.  We used to go hang out in his truck at midnight and just joke around, eat food, and watch movies.  Those were the times!
We haven't been able to visit each other in a long while, so we are sad panda's.  But hopefully soon we can find each other again!
D is one of my best friends.  He is the other half of my brain.....something that only we get haha *wink*

We luv ya D!

My Mom is the best! She is a great Momma and an amazing Grandma.
My kids love when she comes to visit.  Hailey always asks to hang out with "grandma with abby" (that's how she tells me which grandma she means haha)

So Momma, I hope you have a wonderful birthday, even though I'm not there teehee
We love you so much!

Matt is a great, funny, smart guy who is always there for me.  I don't know what I would do without him.

That is why I am grateful that 26 years ago today, he was born.

Wolf Children Review

Today I'm going to review the Movie Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki
or Wolf Children

This is a story about a woman named Hana.  She's a young college student who meets a man who has been sitting in on her classes.  Soon he reveals that he can turn into a wolf.

She is undeterred by this fact and they fall in love.  Soon they have a daughter named Yuki, followed a year later by their son Ame.
Shortly after their second child is born, He goes out on instinct to hunt to provide for his wife who had just given birth.  In doing so, he ends up dying.
Heartbroken, Hana vows to take care of their children alone as best she can.
Learning how to care for children who can turn into wolves is a struggle.  Being so little, they change back and forth whenever they feel like it.

Hana is constantly afraid they would be exposed.  One example that really gets to me is when Yuki gets sick and Hana is standing in between a vet office and a children's hospital, not sure which one she should take her to.
She eventually decides that they should move out of the city and out into the country where they can decide on their own if they want to be wolves or humans.
They buy an abandoned house far away from any neighbors.  Hana fixes it up all by herself, finding small little treasures along the way (beautiful stone sink, small sakura blossoms on the door).
Along their journey, they have to learn to cope with their situation.  At first Hana tries to avoid all the neighbors, but after getting help with her garden from old man Nirasaki, she ends up getting help and helping the other neighbors.

Yuki discovers school, and Hana has to swallow her fear of sending them out alone and lets her attend.  Ame, however, would rather be in the woods and finds his own teacher, who is a fox.

This story is beautifully laid out.  You grow so attached to this family over the 2 hour time span.  You just wish happiness for them.  Needless to say, many a tear was shed while watching this movie.
The music, the animation, the story.

This movie is wonderful all around.
If you're looking for a heartfelt, funny movie full of feels, than this is the movie for you!

The Moving Conundrum

People! I have a problem.
Right now our lives are kind of up in the air.  As in we will probably have to move.
If you know me, you know that I LOVE California.  I've wanted to live here since middle school and being here is awesome.
But not only is this 'barn' horrible (yes, I get it, the nature and stuff is cool.  But the structure itself is horrid), finding a decent job, or even a job at all, is near impossible here right now.
Plus, of course, the housing costs here are high.
Now, we really could go anywhere.  But we figured it would be easier to go somewhere where we have family that Matt could possible stay with so he could start working as we get ready to go.  Make sense?  So that would make our options mainly Utah, Texas, or Washington.
Each place has pros and cons.  Love/hate relationships with each.
Man this is a headache.
Given, the biggest choice factor will be a job.
If we can stay here, that would awesome, but it's not looking like a good choice.
Plus those other places have lower costs of living.
So, I've kind of been looking for jobs on a grand scale.  But that can be hard too because I would love for Matt to be able to not loathe his job, so I've been prioritizing jobs with animals.  And then, I've been looking for jobs that don't require a lot of heavy lifting or physical labor since his back is in bad shape.
So yea, life could go any direction right now.  I'm not going to lie, it's scary (especially cause I hate change)
Know of any jobs? Where should we go?
Changes are on the way

Viz Media Licenses Sailor Moon Franchise

Viz Media has gained Licenses for Sailor Moon.
I am so excited!  Why?  What does this mean?
Well, if you ever watched the old Dubbed Sailor Moon you know they were.....not very good.
Not only did they changed the names, the episodes were heavily edited.  Some episodes were never aired in the US at all.  They didn't even touch Sailor Moon Stars, the final season in the franchise.
Not only will the (probably) be re-dubbed, but they will be released with Subs as well.  Now, for me personally, this is the biggest part.  I prefer to watch my anime with the original Japanese audio, and read the subtitles.  In Japan, they released HD DVD sets for the Sailor Moon anniversary, but they never came to the US (as far as I've been informed).
Hulu is also going to stream the original 200 episodes.
Viz will also have the License for Sailor Moon Crystal.
Crystal will start in July and air two times a month for the next year for a total of 26 episodes.

For me, I am SO excited for this.  I have loved Sailor Moon for as long as I can remember.  It will always be my all time favorite.
Looking forward to all this is going to bring!

Happy Mother's Day

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
Needless to say, I love my Momma!
She is a wonderful Mom who put up with a lot of crap from me.
There were times when I was not an easy child, but we lived through it.
Speaking of living through it...she even knocked on deaths door and came back.  Yes, she that amazing.
She is also a wonderful Grandma.  Hailey loves and misses her everyday.  I'm always getting asked if we can go visit or make her come here.
Grandma ROCKS!

I also have to say Happy Mother's Day to my two warrior mom sisters!
They are both amazing moms who put up with a lot and are still going strong

Summer in Spring

Lately here in California is has felt more like Summer than Spring.
It was hot and we were bored, so we set forth to make a "redneck swimming pool!"
What is that you ask?  There are variations, but we took a tarp we had and put it in the back of Matt's truck.  Then we filled it with the hose.  Instant swimming pool!
To top if off, Matt pulled his little grill out and made some chicken.  The smell of the grill and bug spray....and there are a lot of bugs after the fire...reminded me of Summer.  I was just waiting for some fireworks to go off in the distance.
Next time we're going to do it earlier in the day so it can last longer.
But we had a good ol' time.
