Root Canal

Well, today I got a much needed root canal.  Man was I terrified.  I'm kind of pooped now.
When we got to the dentist office, we were told...after waiting forever in the waiting room and on the doctor...he told me that my Medi-cal doesn't cover anything but extractions since July 2009.  What the hell!  And it wouldn't of mattered anyway, because anything they want to do they have to run by the medi-cal office first to see if they are allowed to.  That is what they are doing with my wisdom teeth right now.  Once they find out they are going to call me.  But for the root canal....that costs $1200....we got something called Care Credit.  It's a credit card that's only for medical stuff (dentist, doctors, and even vet).  I got approved for $1500, so it was the perfect amount.  Once I pay that off, I can get my second root canal done.
Man was it scary!  I had to do it alone, since Matt had to work.  I tried not looking at his needles and tools, but it was very hard.  After the topical numbing thingy, I think he gave me a shot in the hole in my tooth (that or my gums) and it pinched a little, but wasn't bad.  I more felt the stuff come out of it than the actual needle.  Than he did something else, and THAN I got a needle in the roof of my mouth.  That one I felt, and it sucked big time.
It took longer than I think it was supposed to, but my dentist was a perfectionist, which is good for me I guess.  I have to go back in about 2 weeks for my crown.  Right now it looks like some brick thingy is in my mouth, and it feels really weird.
And I want to thank Odette for taking care of me.  I was quite embarrased, but happy at the same time.  She took me to her house and got me all set up to relax after my "ordeal" hehe
Well, now I've been through one of my biggest fears ever....so now I'm tired  Goodnight

Rain Rain and more Rain....

Well, it is Friday, and it is still raining.  It's been raining since Monday, or even longer, I'm starting to forget.  Never thought I'd here of tornadoes in California.  I was getting dressed after my shower, and on the news, they had breaking news.  I sat down to see what it was about, and it was a dog stuck in the overflowed river.  It looked like a German Shepard to me.  They said the water is really cold, and that he had been in there for about an hour and a half.  The dog was terrified, and you could really tell.  When the rescue team tried to walk toward him, it started to run/swim away.  They kind of used a helicoptor to scare him to the edge, but the edge was too steep for him to climb up.  He sure tried though.  So they suspended a man from the helicoptor.  The minute he hit the water, he ran the best he could toward the dog.  He grabbed the dog.  The dog did bite him, which I would expect.  He grabbed the dog under the belly the best he could and grabbed his collar.  Than the helicoptor pulled them up and flew them to the bridge where they lowered them down and about 4 firefighters helped hold him down and I'm sure put a mussle on him.  This part kind of surprised me....after that, a firefighter picked him up and they put him in an ambulance.  I don't think I've ever seen that before.  I thought they'd put him in like a dog catcher truck.   Some people think that they wouldn't risk it because of the fear of being bit, but if it was me, I wouldn't really care.  I remember going after Rascal when he'd get out.  When I finally got to grab him or jump on him, he would always bite me and I didn't care at all.  I'm sure it's the adrenaline (spelling) pumping.  But of course, I'm an animal lover haha.  The news also said that people have been emailing them asking why the firefighters would spend the resources to rescue a dog.  All they said to respond was "to rescue the dog" haha.  They also said "also, so good samaritans won't jump in and make it more complicated." Which makes sense.  But it bothers me when people look at pets as something not important.  They may not act like a human and rely more on instints (and possibly bite for protection) but I don't think that people are necessarily more important.  If anything, animals show more, true love than humans.  They also don't lie or cheat, things like that.  I know not everyone thinks the same as I do, but I can't believe people think it's ok to let a dog drown in a river because it's not a person.  Well anyway....going to go do some laundry.

Bad day

Well....My bad day started really early, like the night before early.  I tried to go to bed early, around 9 o clock, so I could possibly fall asleep before my tooth ache became real bad.  I failed at that.  At about 10:30 I took some medicine.  It never took effect, so at about 2:30 I tried to take some more, still nothing.  No pain medicine or my oragel would help.  So I was up, literally, the whole night with severe pain.  I think I finally found a dentist, thanks to Odette, and they are running my Medi-cal card to see if they can take me or something, but they seem to be really smart (hint the sarcasm) over there.  The lady said that her machine went down so she'd call me back.  She never did.  When I called back she retook my information and said it was still down, and she was on the other line so she wanted to get off fast or some bullcrap.  So she pretty much rushed me off the phone.  When she did call back, she thought she got the wrong number I guess when Matt answered because she hung up on him.  So I called back, again, to ask if they just tried to reach me.  She goes "Yea, the systems still down, bye" *click* GAH! Is it really that hard.
Oh and to add to the bad day, my computer was messing up yesterday (but I could get on) and this morning it froze.  When I got on just now, it won't start up at all (I'm on Matt's).  So I called my "computer savy" friend and he says that I have the same virus his son has on his laptop, and it's nasty.  He's not totally sure how to get it off yet.  But all of my Anime and stuff I watch is on there, which is all I felt like doing today because I'm out of it from being so tired.  Also, my World of Warcraft is all set up on there.  So the rest of today is going to be BORING!!  I doubt I'll be able to take a nap.  When I lay down the pain in my mouth seems to worsen.  I think it has something to do with the blood in my head or something, I don't know.  All I know is what I feel.  I would walk to Matt's work....but it's POURING outside....again.
I guess there were 3 minor tornadoes yesterday here, which is kind of odd.  Streets and freeways are flooded, the beaches are having really high waves.  They said that some ports might even get washed away.  I'm just waiting for the power to go out so I'm really stuck with nothing to do and no heat.  Not that it's way warm in here anway (LOTS of air seeps in and the rinkydink heater just doesn't cut it).
Well I think I'm going to bust out my new blanket I got for Christmas, sit on the couch, watch a movie, and hope to fall asleep.  Hope tomorrow is better!

Today

Well, today I'm sitting here bored while it rains rains rains outside.  When I went to get dressed this morning, I looked out the window and saw a pretty small coyote looking for cover from the rain.

I tried to get a better picture of him as he ran past the front door, but he was too fast.  He went onto the neighbors property and probably hid in that barn they have. He was pretty cute.
Speaking of the neighbors, I guess the new owner of the neighboring property (he rents it out) wants to do what the old owner wanted to do and is trying to get our access road taken away.  I'm pretty sure it's a law that we have to have it....that's why it was put in in the first place.  Also, there is supposed to be something that says they can't take her to court for it anymore, but she got summons anyway.  Let's just say she wasn't happy that afternoon.
The other night, Matt and I got The Proposal from the Redbox.  It was a really cute movie.  I liked it a lot.  Definatly a chick flick haha.  Matt and I also watch Fun with Dick and Jane.  That was super funny.  I love Jim Carrey, I think he is awesome!
Why does airfare have to be so expensive??  If it wasn't so pricy, I'd be flying to Oklahoma to meet my new niece!  She is so super cute.  I'm not going to lie....I think a lot of new born babies are...well ugly.  Maybe ugly is too harsh...just kind of funny looking.  But she's very cute.
Well, since I'm so super bored, I think I'm going to mess around with Matt's computer and try to get stuff from our video camera onto his computer.  Now just hope his computer doesn't crash or something and we lose are video.  Since we don't have any DVD-R's to put them on yet.
Wish me luck!

Date Night

Tonight Matt and I went and used some gift cards we got for Christmas.  We went and saw Sherlock Holmes.  It was really good, even though I would of enjoyed it more if the people in front of us wouldn't of kept their phone on...seriously he answered it twice and it beeped every 5 minutes.  Also, those same people brought their 4 year old to the movie, who...as cute as he was, talked, ran around, and stuff the whole time.  That just isn't a place for a kid like that.  Other than that, a very good movie I recommend.
We also went out to Red Robin, where we had a very good waiter! Expecially compared to the waitress we had the other weekend at Applebee's.  Man she sucked! And she wrote everything down...this guy didn't write one thing down and got it exactly right, and was friendly to boot haha.
I have no idea why the picture turned out so red....

After dinner, we didn't want to go home, so we went to Petsmart and this little lizard shop.  At the one, we saw a baby bearded dragon who was beyond saving...something we've seen at Petco and Petsmart quite a few times.  Not only are they too small to be being sold, the smallest ones get bullied by the bigger ones and don't get to eat, therefore, starving to death.  It was very sad.  It made me remember a dream Matt and I have had to open our own pet shop.  We did see this older-baby bearded dragon who was very orange, and he was soooo cute! He kept coming up to the glass, than when I put my finger on the glass, he'd run away, than come back again hahaha. I wanted him so bad!  Too bad he was $59.99 :(
It was a very fun date night!  <3

Momo

Well, today one of our lizards, Momo, passed away.  He was so little and funny.  When he got scared, he'd do the hula!  He was always either hiding, or climbing on Sweets.  It was quite funny to watch him chase crickets around the cage, because he was so fast, but it was almost like he couldn't control his breaks.  He'd BAM into the glass.  He didn't grow all that much.  I felt bad for him....we had him in a cage with Tortuga, the other lizard of his kind, and since he was so little, Tortuga would grab his tail to hold him back so he could eat first.  I noticed one day his tail was all bloody, so we sat and watched to see why, and he was being bullied :(
It's very sad (to me at least) how he died.  He basically got eaten alive.  You see, he's a vegetarian that loved the occasional cricket.  So we had him in a cage with the bearded dragon, Sweets, who eats a ton of crickets, and he'd just eat the couple he could catch haha.  Well, while we were on vacation.  A lot of crickets were thrown into the cage at one time.  That's a lot of crickets for 2 lizards to eat, expecially when it's colder so they aren't moving as fast.  Well the crickets decided he was a good meal.  They chewed a hole in his side.  This morning I noticed blood on his side.  I figured maybe Sweets, who has long nails right now, may of accidentally got him in the side yesterday when they were climbing all over each other.  But when I picked him up, there was a whole a little bigger than a head of a q-tip in his side.  You could see right into his ribcage.  I called Matt at work and when he came home for lunch, he took him to work with him.  I guess when they looked at him, they had chewed a hole in his lung.  They tried to do surgery I guess, but he's very little and kind of quishy...and he died.
I think people think if it's not a dog or cat, that it's not as important to take care of.  I don't know.  All I know is now my lizard is dead.
Here's a picture of his hole the best I could take

Home

Whelp....We're home! It took a little longer to get home than to get to Utah because we ran into traffic. I spent yesterday cleaning and sorting laundry haha.
"Christmas vacation" was fun! Mia looks so sad without her new best friend. Maybe now Mom and Dad will have to drive with Ruby! That would be interesting. I didn't get to meet up with Kaycee, but that's ok. I plan to meet her little baby one day :)
Speaking of babies! I want to go to Oklahoma soo bad! I want to meet my new little niece. She is a doll. Too bad flying has become such a pain! I'm watching the news right now, and they were talking about how they are trying to make flying "safer" *rolls eyes* There will always be someone who gets past. Pretty soon we're going to have to strip down all the way to get through. They might as well ban flying.
Ha! The weather just said...mid 70's all week. Some of the perks of California...even though I do miss the snow sometimes.
Man! Matt wants me to take this medicine for my tooth (I know what it is but I can't spell it haha). I've taken it before...the thing is...he got it from his work! He says it's the same stuff, that there is no human/pet kind it's all the same...but but but...IT STINKS SO BAD! Mine didn't stink. I think if I take them I'm going to throw up. Even Mia threw up after taking one once! *sigh*
Anynoodle...here are some pictures from Christmas
